Topic: An Overview of the Scope, Envelope and Lighting Portions of ASHRAE 90.1-2013

Summary:  Effective January 1, 2016, the State of Alabama adopted one of the most progressive energy codes in the US: the 2015 IECC paired with the ANSI/ASHRAE/IES Standard 90.1-2013. Commercial energy code compliance is mandatory and enforced for all new commercial buildings and alterations to existing buildings.

This Commercial Energy Code overview presentation focuses on the scope, application and methods of demonstrating compliance with the envelope and lighting portions of ASHRAE 90.1-2013. Attendees will also learn strategies for a more efficient building thermal envelope and efficient lighting systems. In addition, the presentation references the free COMCheck software which may be used to easily demonstrate compliance with the commercial energy code.
